I disagree. Now they are not part of the qualification for nationals I
don't see them as relevant or important at all.  Are regions really
necessary in the UK.  They were only introduced because there were too
many teams for a single Nationals.  Regionals will only be a tournament
to see who's best in the region, something that can be seen from the
Tour results probably. The Regions are not some great necessity like in
USA, Canada or possibly Germany. They are a convenience.  Regionals have
been left in a very strange position. No qualifying status, no reason
for them to happen.

I think it IS important to have more non Tour tournaments, but I'm not
sure it has to be Regionals. Maybe some more regionally based non Tour
tournaments e.g. Milton Keynes and Nottingham (?) were on the same
weekend.


I'd still like Regionals to happen, but only because I want another non
Tour tournament.
