Hi all

Re the need of the certain teams to qualify - I actually don't agree with=20
most of my team mates.

I personally enjoy meeting new teams and people and playing against as many=
=20
different players as possible. So I'm all for playing at qualifiers even=20
though it was a bloody long drive back to Brighton in the rain on Sunday=
 night!

However I would like to raise another issue that I am sure will start some=
=20
conversation. When I started playing Ultimate and travelled to tournaments=
=20
with Sneekies I always looked forward to playing against the Hombres and=20
other top teams even though we were well beaten. Scoring 1 or 2 points=20
against these teams was as rewarding as winning games against other teams.

But, at the time I appreciated that even though the top teams knew that they=
=20
were a lot better than us, they still took the game relatively seriously and=
=20
didn't give too much away. I certainly didn't want the top teams to fool=20
around and start throwing silly stuff just for their amusement.

I do know, however, that there are some people that would like the top teams=
=20
to take it a little easier so that the weaker teams at least get the=20
opportunity to put together some passes, get the flow going and have a=20
chance to score. What are people's views on this?

When I have played for Shotgun against a "weaker" team and played the game=
=20
as we would any other (thus giving the team the respect they should have), I=
=20
have received complaints that we didn't give the other team a chance and we=
=20
should have let them make more passes and maybe score a few more points. =20
But when we have taken it easy against a team I have received complaints=20
that we were being patronising and only fooling around. I think we are=20
beginning to get a balance between the two - playing hard but not with total=
=20
intensity.=20

Any views?

PS - Maybe it is time to start screening members of Britdisc to keep out=20
complete wan*ers like R Kingsley? - what do you think Si - I know a few=20
others will agree with me.

Se=E1n (currently smiling)
