As promised...
(if nothing happens in the SE - and we have space - then we
will open up entry to teams from that region...)
(likewise SW depending on Exeter.)

Paper invitations are in the post.
So you should get them tomorrow (or Friday). Note the
deadline - you don't have long!
Don't wait for the paper... send me your money!
If you are not sure if you are in this region or not
then please get in touch.

BUF NORTH & MIDLANDS OUTDOOR REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 1997
(aka the Guy Fawkes Outdoors)

It's that time of year again, to pit your skills against the
cream of North and Midlands Ultimate (and the weather)
in the regional championships. Yeah, right.

With nationals over the tournament this year will have a
different focus. Instead of providing a set number of teams
for National Finals, the aim will be to introduce as many new
players to the outdoor game before the rush to the comfort
and warmth of the sports halls, and to let people know what
the real game of Ultimate is all about. For those of you
who have been playing all Summer this is your final chance
to enjoy real competition in the vast spaces of an outdoor
field before 1998. And there's the added bonus of the
regional trophy! You know it makes sense.

On to the details:

The Date:	- 1/2 November 1997

The Venue:	- Adams Grammar School, Newport, Shropshire

The Price:	- £60 per team

Further details (maps, schedules etc.) will be forwarded
on receipt of your entry fee.
Please make all cheques payable to S. Hill.

Food will be available on-site throughout the weekend,
and there is the possibility, as yet unconfirmed, that
we may have access to a small amount of indoor accomodation.
This will be available on a first come, first served basis,
for a nominal fee. Camping will be possible for the hardier
amongst you, and we will also distribute an accomodation
list for the area. Seeing as the tournament is so late in
the year, we will have a relaxed start, to give time for the
greasy spoon/paracetmol to take effect. We will also be
looking to finish play early in order for the traditional
Saturday evening festivities to begin.

On to the important bit. We need to have a guaranteed 12
teams coming for the tournament to go ahead. Therefore,
should you wish to enter, can you send your entry fee to
Simon Hill at the address below by Friday 17 October.
(I might accept a deposit and/or a lot of grovelling about
paying on the day - it depends on how convinved I am
that you are definitely coming!)

******************************************************
Failure to have 12 teams registered by this point will
mean that the tournament will be cancelled.
******************************************************

I think that's it for now. If you wish to enter, ask questions,
or just hear a friendly voice, please contact Simon Hill
at the address below. See you in November!

Cheers
