Hello fellow British Disc players,

It seems hard to believe that something as big and controversial as the
Millenium Dome hasn't already sparked some posts in our discussion group,
so I'll start the ball (No! ... disc) rolling.

The plans to build a huge saucer-shaped object in the nation's capital
cannot have escaped anyone's notice. There seems to be associated with this
centre-piece of Millenium celebration a link to future-gazing as well as
the more obvious UFO landings. It hardly takes a giant leap of the
imagination to connect the whole enterprise with our very own family of
sports. The very thought conjures up phrases such as:

".. flying discs signal the future of sport!"
".. competition with player responsibility built in - a sport for a new age!"
".. sport with morals attached - straight out of Star Trek: The Next
Generation!"
".. Ultimate Frisbee *in* the 'Ultimate Frisbee'!"

The big question at the moment is "What will be on show under this
sparkling new dome which many millions will visit (despite, or even because
of, the controversial publicity)?". Well why not some disc sports?

Is this an opportunity OR WHAT?! Let the comments and ideas flow ...

... over to our own 'spin doctors'!

Sam.
