Hello everyone,

Before you give up on what sounds like a dry, unimaginative ramble
can I ask that you read this in full, and judge later? Cheers.

Briefly, I became involved with the BFDF with the specific goal of
recognition in mind. It is now clear that before we can entertain the
idea of SC recognition disc sports have a lot of work to do. In
response, my position is evolving into a more generalised one,
tackling some of the broader areas of "development."

This is where you come in. I'd like to set up a working group in order,
firstly, to identify and secondly, attempt to tackle issues where we
can, in our present situation realistically achieve some success. In
the first instance this involves no more committment than sitting down
with a few beers and mouthing off about what you think needs to be
done, and I know for a fact that Britdisc readers are pretty keen on
this.

I'd like input from from anyone interested in brainstorming a few ideas.
From there, the working group could form a realsitic programme of
action and go some way to making a difference. I know that there
are a lot of people out there with ideas on where disc sports should
be going right now, and we all have a vested interest in the results of
whatever actions we take. This is not about who's the best player,
or who knows the most about disc sport politics, or who has the most
experience - this is about injecting new blood and fresh ideas into an
infrastructure that is always in need of a different outlook.

Whoever you are, and however radical your views may be, get in
touch. To avoid sounding too much like Lord Kitchiner (OK - so I
can't spell his name) I'll end there. I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers for your patience,

Mark Jefferson
