     Just to counter EJ's point:

"All those that are arguing for playing mixed Ultimate please just
look at the top 'open' teams in this country and count the number of
women players. This is enough to tell me that women playing in 'open'
     teams does not work."

Chevron have lost three players to the Womens teams this season.
Claire P, Jackie H and Laura all easily made the grade and were valued
Chevron team members. They made the choice to play in womens teams,
and that's fine by us, but until now, as members of our open team,
     they certainly did 'work'.
