Yeah..Alan made the point about women players in the top 6-10 teams, I'm one
of them (Red Shift) but to be quite honest, I have spent most of the two tours
marking the only women on the opposite team. This isn't a criticism of Red
Shift; it's the tactical way to play the line. What's the point? I may as well
play for a women't team?

Colin...couldn't agree more.

I really pushed for GB to not enter the tour together this year, so that I and
a few others could play for mixed teams. However, although I have really
enjoyed playing for Red Shift, I have found a huge difference within the two
games. I feel that the best way for me to develop my game of Ultimate is to
play women's ultimate. I can't really match the speed and strength of the
average male player ( and I'm currently training for GB so it's not like I'm
slacking off).

My one hesitation about a women's tour next year is that it will be dominated
by about 2 really good teams (probably Bliss and Twin Peaks) and then there
will be a chasm between the 3rd and other teams. Should we mix up the all the
women players available...but doesn't this do even more damage for the
development of women's club teams?
Also, what about women's teams entering Worlds 99? Will entering the tour
screw up the chances of having a women's division? (I'm assuming that there
will only be about 2/3 women's teams entering)

Locks was right...let's start encouraging women players at university
level..women's ultimate is a great game to play, and perhaps women will find
themselves more involved in the game if they play in a COMPETITIVE women's
league.

It seems to me that there are women who want to play, but there aren't many
women who really want to play competitively and who are prepared to commit to
improving the game.
