STUDENTS' UNION
Sports & Societies Liaison Officer

The Students' Union wishes to appoint a committed and enthusiastic 
person to this expanding role - ideally from the 1st of June 1998 
although we are able to be flexible to accommodate the right 
candidate.  The starting salary will depend on the particular range of 
skills and experience of the successful applicant but will be in the 
range of £11,000 to £13,000  per annum. Annual holiday entitlement is 
25 days per annum and the Union operates a contributory pension scheme 
after an initial qualifying period.

JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the elected Officers of the Union in providing our core 
services for all students, in particular those based at our FCH/ 
Hardwick Campus and to support to the VP, Sports & Societies 
Sabbatical in the running of the Sports and Societies Department

Specific Responsibilities:
To ensure the efficient running of FCH Reception on a day to day 
basis.
To provide general administrative support for the Sports & Societies 
Department.
To manage, co-ordinate and run the Sports & Societies resources centre 
and the Students' Union Office.
To be responsible for banking and other duties as required.

Responsible to:
FCH Site Manager and Vice President Sports & Societies Sabbatical

Project Work:
To liaise with VP, Sports & Societies to enhance student sport within 
the College environment at both competitive and social levels 
including:
	* BUSA Championships
	* The SU Aerobics Club
To arrange and co-ordinate the Sporting Tours for Union Clubs.
To assist the VP, Sports & Societies with specific annual events such 
as RAG, Sports Reunion and The Sports Awards Evening, also to assist 
in the development of new fund raising initiatives.
To be responsible for all administration relating to Union transport.
To ensure that Union Clubs and Societies are aware of current Union 
Policies and Procedures.

ENTERTAINMENTS CO-ORDINATOR

The Students' Union wishes to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic 
person to this new role with effect from 1st July 1998.The starting 
salary will depend on the particular range of skills and experience of 
the successful applicant but will be in the range of £13,000 to 
£16,000 per annum.  Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum 
and the Union operates a contributory pension scheme after an initial 
qualifying period.

JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the elected Officers of the Union in providing a diverse 
range of  quality entertainment which represents value for money to 
our members and to have particular responsibility for ensuring strict 
compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and other 
statutory requirements.

RESPONSIBLE TO:
The Students' Union General Manager

DUTIES:
To assist with the planning and budgeting of all entertainments across 
all College sites and liaising with the College management to ensure 
that all necessary permissions are granted and room bookings made.
To be personally responsible for the organisation of all major 
entertainment events whether staged on or off campus.
To act as Stage Manager of the annual Summer Ball.
To be responsible for providing all relevant information regarding 
entertainments to the Publicity & Marketing Co-ordinator and liaising 
to ensure first class publicity for all events.
To encourage and welcome student participation in the planning and 
management of entertainments.
To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Students' 
Union equipment associated with entertainments and ensuring that 
adequate training and instruction is made available to all users.
To advise the Students' Union on all areas of capital investment 
within the entertainments sphere.
To be the line manager of the in house Security team.
Any other duties which may be required from time to time.
