Hello and Hallo, to a very random list of Ultimate players around the
world!

This is about the new "Coed" or "Mixed" division of the WORLD ULTIMATE
CHAMPIONSHIPS in Minnesota, USA, August 15-23. Coed teams play with at
least 3 women and 3 men and the 7th person's gender chosen by the offense.
(A 3:4 gender ratio)

Please forward this to players in your country who want to play coed at
Worlds. EVERYONE is invited to play coed -- national coed teams AND club
coed teams.

There has been much good discussion about coed, plus some confusion that
is natural with a new division. It is so exciting to get mail from players
around the world who love coed and are enthusiastic about this year and
the future. It is also helpful to receive your thoughtful questions about
development of a new division. Thanks everyone!

To answer your questions, here is EXACTLY what's happening at Coed Worlds:

Club teams and National teams will be playing together in ONE BIG COED
DIVISION for most of the week. Coed teams do NOT have to decide now,
whether to play in the WFDF World Championship Division or the
International Cup All-Comer's Division. Just register, and get excited to
play hard and fun all week against coed teams from around the world!

Worlds will be a huge FESTIVAL, with amazing fields and amazing spirit. We
will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the sport and the debut of a new
international division. The beauty is that EVERYONE is invited - national
teams AND club teams. For the first year of coed, it is most important
that everyone who wants to play gets to play, because we have the luxury
of a wonderfully huge and LUSH sports center. :)

IF 4 or more TRUE COED NATIONAL TEAMS attend, there will be a WFDF coed
Championship at the end of the week. To qualify as a true national team,
your team must have AT LEAST 5 women and 7 men (at least 12 total) and
follow WFDF eligibility guidelines.

Team Canada was announced yesterday, and the United States is in the midst
of its coed team selection process. We hope your country will send a
national coed team!

If you are unsure whether your team qualifies as a CLUB or NATIONAL team,
and you want to be eligible for the WFDF Coed Championship, please just
explain your situation to WFDF Coed Coordinator, Joey Gray
<coedisc@speakeasy.org>, who will consult with you and other WFDF
Committee Members to resolve your questions.

	- Deadlines may be changing: Write nscsport@citilink.com
	- Right now, you have to be a "member" to see all info
(Free, but inconvenient. I hope this changes.)
	- The coed eligibility rules were too confusing, so
this message overrides all info from January.

The Sports Center in Minnesota has several people working on Worlds.
Holly is the REGISTRAR for club teams AND national teams
