Despite the poor weather conditions, quite a crowd gathered to watch and
cheer on the teams in the final - and what a spectacle they were to behold.
Both teams used their wealth of disc skills to battle and score against
zone defences as well as an extremely testing wind. Long hucks with the
wind were proving to be an important feature of the match to gain
territorial advantage even at the expense of possession, but scoring with
the wind seemed almost as tricky as playing against it!

My congratulations to both teams for providing such an excellent display
and a special 'well done' to the pre-tournament underdogs who came out
victorious 10-8 after the time cap ...

1 Twin Peaks
2 Bliss

In addition to the Women's Division, there was also an Open Division final
on a neighbouring pitch, but I don't know the score in that game. It
featured the reigning National Champions (and newly crowned Southeast
Regional Champions) Shotgun (London) against the current Southwest Regional
Champions, Fluid Druids (Cardiff).

More reports will doubtless follow ..

Sam from Stan.
