This can quite easily happen given the fact that in all British
tournaments we play positional matches all the way down the
tournament.

Teams you play in your pool matches can quite easily end up in
your section of the knockout phase, once any crossover matches are
played. Since the draw for the knockout part of the tournament is
planned before the tournament starts it is impossible to prevent
teams playing each other repeatedly if they get the right results.

This situation is usually caused by a few upsets, and
unfortunately the TD has no power to make sure all the matches go
according to seed, if that was the case there would seem little
point in playing.

Anyway I would like to congratulate the skunks on a difficult job
well done. Organising a good tournament is no mean feat, and Will
and Tim should be commended on the job they have done. As always
the pitches were exceptional, the top pitches were also very good
this year.

Alan
