For those of you who're maybe interesed in starting team mailing lists
(if uni can't do one for you), try www.egroups.com, for FREE

Here's a few of their features.

PS: Honest, this isn't meat to be spam, but is a service I've found
useful...

  ------- Forwarded message follows -------
SPAM-FREE. eGroups.com features both an e-mail address protector that
ensures the addresses of group members aren't divulged to spammers, as
well as a special spam detector that recognizes spam before it's
distributed to group members. Such messages are sent to the group
moderator only, who can decide whether to forward it to the group.

MEMBERSHIP LISTING FOR PRIVATE GROUPS. Members can now view the profiles
of others in a private group. The group moderator can also set the group
policy to have no membership listing. The listing only provides
pseudonymous handles and personal info that members chose to provide.
Note: If you do *not* want your group's members to be visible to each
other in this way, you must go to your list now and set this policy at
http://www.egroups.com/. [No membership information will be given out to
non-members.]

DUPLICATE MESSAGE DETECTOR. eGroups.com automatically detects and
eliminates duplicate messages. For example, if a group member is on
vacation and has an autoresponder set up, these multiple messages will not
be posted.

PERSONAL PROFILE. Users can enter and edit their personal information
such as telephone, occupation, and other contact information, and share
them with the other members of their groups. Users can determine who can
see this information by group, and also set preferences on how they want
to receive messages.

POLLING. You can send a structured message to group members, asking who
wants which sandwich for lunch or who can come to a party at which time.
The results are automatically collected and presented to you.

UNIFIED "WHAT'S NEW" PAGE. You are notified what new messages there are
across a whole set of groups. You can also see how many moderation
requests there are, if any.

WEB-BASED MODERATION. You can approve new subscriptions and moderate
messages with a click of a mouse in our new Web-based moderation
interface.

UNIFIED SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT PAGE. Users can manage all of their
subscriptions on the Web -- even for lists that are not hosted by
FindMail! You don't have the hassle of having to find out how to
unsubscribe from such e-mail lists; you can do it all from eGroups.com.

SHARED FOLDERS. You can easily file messages and share them with others
in a shared folder system, associated with each e-mail group.

NO-ADS OPTION. As you know, FindMail uses advertising income to offset
the costs associated with our services. Several people have asked us for
a version of our service that won't show ads on e-mail messages. So we're
now offering this option: For $4.95 a month, we will not insert
third-party ads into messages of your group. Go to
http://www.egroups.com/info/noAds.html to select this option.

PERFORMANCE. We've also transitioned our infrastructure to a fully
scalable architecture. We're now delivering 95% of the e-mail messages in
less than 5 seconds -- and it turns out the remaining 5% are often due to
problems at the receiving site.

We'd appreciate your feedback on our new eGroups.com service. Please go
to http://www.egroups.com, check it out, and tell us what you think.
