This weekend saw the first qualifiers for the Open Indoors.
Unfortunately, Saturday saw Sheffield blanketed with a couple of
inches of snow, yet this was not enough to deter the comitted
competitors (although some did have to push their bus up a steep
hill close to the venue).

Saturday saw Chevron dominating (even wearing afro wigs and fake
moustaches) with strong challenges coming from Bob, Phatfly, Jedi and
Phat 'Eds . The only drawback to the day was the cheesy dance music
being spewed forth from the speakers on the sidelines (the team
responsible will remain anonymous, although you can be assured the
host club were not responsible).

The social saw much drinking and unfortunately for witnesses,
nakedness. Sheffield, the home of the Full Monty , inspired a few
misguided individuals to emulate their on screen heroes. (Who was
that bloke with the tiny penis anyway?) There was also the usual
post party flood the hosts house action, with a poor Phat 'Eds player
returning from a triumphant pull at his faculty ball to see water
pouring through his kitchen ceiling.

Sunday arrived (far to early for some) and various players played
with drink induced symptoms i.e. hangovers, blurred vision and in
some cases a state of prolonged inebriation. Crossovers were played
first and then onto the seroius issue of qualification. These games
were played on the BIG pitch (congrats to Phateds for playing the
3rd 4th playoff agianst Phatfly iron man). The final saw Chevron
overcoming BOB.

The full results were as follows with the top six qualifying for
Nationals. Jed Children II have already refused a place should it
become available, so if anyone drops out MMJ will step in.

1. Chevron Action Flash (Claret Jug Winners)
2. BOB
3. Phatfly
4. Phat 'Eds
5. Jedi Children
6. Take Phat

7. Jedi Children II
8. Mild Mannered Janitors

9. Mwnci See (Plate Winners)
10. Zebedee
11. Too Phat
12. Brunel Falcons
13. Disciples
14. Disciples II

Spirit was hotly contested with over half the teams getting a vote.
However, it was Mwnci See whoe were to enjoy the Tequilla on the long
ride back to Aberystwyth.

Finally, Fantasy League Frisbee was also contested for everyones last
game, which raised eighteen pounds for Comic Relief. The best team
was selected by Will (Jedi II). MVP went to Chris (also Jedi II) and
LVP (also receiving a trophy) went to Steve (Mwnci See).

Thanks to everyone who came and congratulations and good luck for
Cheltenham for those who qualified.
