Subject:	London Summer League

Hi there

Are there any London-based teams/players interested in getting a short
summer league going?

This is the plan (subject to suitable levels of interest)...

1) Teams tell us they're interested
2) We come up with a schedule
3) Games are "flexibly" scheduled for weeknights (to avoid tournaments).
4) You go and play them - each team might have one game every week or
two, but no more often than that.
5) We compile the results, work out who's won. Maybe there'd be a "final"
to decide.

We'd like to ensure that any such league doesn't disintegrate after a few
weeks, as this would make it all a little pointless. So before you say
"yes, we'd like to enter", please ensure:

a) that you have enough players who are honestly prepared to give it a go;

b) that you can make it to the usual central-london venues (e.g. Clapham
or Regents Park) on a mid-week evening;

Teams can be either your usual BUF-type team, or you can grab a bunch of
mates and throw a team together specifically for the league. Just make
sure there's enough on your team to play 7-a-side, allowing for some
players not showing up, etc.

Have a think about it, make some calls, then if you'd like to enter, get
back to me with the following information:

* Name of the team
* Contact name, telephone no, e-mail
* Preferred "home ground" out of either Clapham Common or Regents Park.
Or if you have an idea for somewhere else fairly central and accessible
that we could play some games, do tell.

We'd aim to get started by the first week of June, so don't leave it too
long.

Thanks

Paul

P.S. This would be in addition to, rather than instead of, the pickup
games at Clapham Common. Hopefully that'll start this week.
