The implication from Hughes comments is that the only way to get Ultimate
recognized is to become more like every other mainstream sport (exactly the
opposite reason that the vast majority of people begin playing).

When I meet new people and tell them what I do with my weekends they do
often think I'm slightly insane but when I explain to them properly about
what the game involves and how much commitment the very serious players have
they are 99 times out of 100 very interested in knowing more.

As an Ultimate player I enjoy knowing that we're different from other
sports-people - just because we don't get TV coverage or have some local
business paying for our T-shirts doesn't cause me sleepless nights.

I play Ultimate to enjoy myself, to meet up with my friends and to compete
in a friendly and spirited atmosphere and I say lets keep it that way.
