1.
I used to play for a junior team for about 4 years, and every year the =
amount of teams grew. There are junior tournaments but only about 1 a =
season (Indoor & Outdoor). There should be about 12+ Junior teams around =
at the moment. But to keep this going there should be more tournaments =
(Even a separate division in a major tourney will do - Tour, =
Nationals???) this will then demonstrate the level of ultimate that is =
achievable and will drive young people to keep playing.

2.
Juniors used to / or maybe still allowed to play in Open or Student =
tournaments. But few rarely do. Maybe due to unfair rules ( I will =
explain....)
Once while playing for Discult, we entered as a Junior teams at the =
national Qualifiers. We were playing IRON Man (No Subs.... :) ). we =
played well and managed to take 3rd position. Thinking we qualified we =
celebrated. But we didn't this was because we weren't Uni. Students, =
College Students Yes, Uni. No. ---- Cheers Guys.

This because a year or two back a junior team NADS, beat all the =
students won the student finals. (beaten by juniors -- oh dear!!! :) )=20
So after that we are not allowed to qualify, but are invited to play to =
make up numbers!!.

3.
>From my experience of teaching kids to chuck a disc, they are all keen, =
but when it comes to the game < 12 may struggle with rules and taking it =
seriously.

The person to contact about Junior Ultimate is Kevin Lowe (Chevron =
Action Flash) as he did / does a great job a Junior Co-ordinator.

Good luck in your quest

Al.

Teams: I'll have a D please Bob, Discult, GB Juniors, Phoenix Phylers, =
Bruce Lee Dragons (nee K-Niggets) - Pickup
