Just adding my support to the BUF proposals - I don't want to repeat
everything as I am pretty much in agreement with what Ben and Paul have
said. But

>I'm sure lots of players gradually dropped out of Ultimate partly because
they were no longer >in touch with what was happening (I did). This is a
real problem for new graduates who move >to a part of the country with no
teams. Getting a regular newsletter sent to your door would >help

I see this as the most major benefit for both players and the BUF. Many
players that aren't on britdisc/have web access find it hard to keep up
with dates/results/new rules etc... and for new players I frimly believe
that a monthly newsletter would go a long way to keeping them interested.
I think this applies as much if not more to student players - my experience
of student reqruitment is huge numbers of new people that last for about 2
months and then suddenly there are very few - anything that helps keep
those people interested is great!

I agree however that students (and un-waged) will need some form of reduced
membership.

Just my two cents,
BARRY
