BDers,

CALL FOR WEBSITE GROUP MEMBERS

Many of you may have browsed the BUF's web pages at Cambridge which
have been kindly hosted by David MacKay for the last couple of years.
The site has remained fairly stable for the last year and has been
increasingly hit from within the UK (50%) but also from Europe and
America. The site has also won awards most recently from looksmart as
editors choice (looksmart being a search engine run by Readers
Digest..... Oh nooooo!)

But times are a'changin'

As some of you may know who are involved in the industry, university
servers are bound by rules laid down by JANET (Joint Academic NETwork)
which forbid the use of advertising/sponsorship in pages amongst other
things. There is also limited functionality on the Cambridge server so
pages are all maintained manually.

So the site will be moving to a commercial server (on which the BUF has
been given space for free). This will allow us to do whatever we so
wish.

So, the BUF needs people who have suggestions for the content of the
website, anyone who can help in finding sponsors/advertisers for the
site, and anyone who can help in building/structuring the site. If you
are interested then please let me know by email. (Hopefully one of the
first things I will do is to set up a web based discussion forum for
this group)

That's it for now.....

Scott
