[TRASH TALK CLEANED AWAY] >Kevin (& Jennie) [LEFT OVER ADVERTISING MATERIAL DISPOSED OF] It used to be one of the boasts of disc event organisers that the friendly folk who play disc (Ultimate AND Disc Golf) actually leave the fields and courses tidier than they were before the event started. But all has changed in recent years and we are (almost) as bad as the general sporting public. One method worth exploring might be to provide (one or more) black bin liners to each team and offer a financial reward for every full or part full bag returned at the end of the tournament. From a budget point of view it would be childsplay to factor in the cost of the 'rewards' ... that way the teams that fill most bags reap the biggest financial rewards (right out of the pockets of the lazy sods who don't clean up after themselves ;-)! The same system can work on a 'no-money-prizes' competition basis, where the most rubbish collected wins some small token of gratitude (beer or a cuddly toy). It seems sad to have to pay people to clear up after themselves, but I still think it is better than buying people in to do the same job. 'Proper bins' are no answer either - its an 'attitude' thing IMHO. Sam "talking rubbish as always" Neilson.
