FYI

Talking to one of the Japanese players at a WFDF congress some years ago (I
think 4), to enter their nationals cost players individually in the region
of 60GBP= (this included 30GBP= for membership of their national association
without which you couldn't enter nationals) but the rest was the player fee
for a weekend tournament. Granted this is extreme, but we are getting
organisation of our sport for bargain basement prices in my opinion.

Anyone going to the Open should ask one of the cricket players how much
their sport costs them each year - one of their committee had estimated that
the average cost per player per year was in the region of 3000GBP.

I am not involved in the set-up or organisation of this years nationals, but
I have been and know that everyone involved puts in a lot of work. Whats
more Red can expect to perform worse as a team because of the organisation
load placed on players who are both trying to play and organise at the same
time.
