If we are attempting to get the strongest teams possible for a real
hard-fought tournament, shouldn't the regional tournament be further down
the line, so to speak?  If I were playing, then I'd like more than one
practice with everyone before playing in a tournament.

Secondly, surely the first meeting is simply a selection process, not a
practice.  Therefore, it seems that one weekend we're selecting a squad from
players many people may not have seen before, let alone played with, then
throwing them into a tournament together.

I suggest that the actual regional tournament be moved back to give teams a
chance to practice together.  After all, you can't expect people from Oxford
to travel to Cardiff twice a month for a SW&W practice, so more time needs
to be given...
