Hi britdisc & BDGA readers

I have been asked if GB will be able to field a Guts team for the
forthcoming WUGC2000 in Germany and thought it worth sending out an early
call to players across the country to find out who would be interested.

As far as I am aware GB has never sent a 'Guts-only' team to a major
European or World championships which has caused some tricky scheduling
problems for those competing in both Ultimate and Guts. In an attempt to
reduce the impact such 'doubling up' may have on the Guts event, the
following PRELIMINARY statement has been issued by WFDF (although not yet
ratified, the logic seems fairly sensible):

"For Ultimate players to play Guts, their ultimate team must already have
12 dedicated ultimate players. The 13th+ players will likely be allowed to
play Guts as well. The Guts teams will need to have 6 players minimum. For
example, an ultimate team will need to have 18 players to field a guts
team, 12 dedicated to ultimate and 6 additional to play Guts. I suppose the
6 guts players could come from many different teams, but there will be
schedule conflicts I suspect.

Dave "Nez" Nesbitt
WFDF Guts Chairman"

Please let me know if you would like to be considered for the GB Guts team
- if we have enough interest, I guess we can hold trials! Remember that
this is open to *all* players regardless of age, sex or preferred disc
sport!

Cheers

Sam Neilson
GB Guts Manager.
