On a mild, damp and windy weekend a total of 23 players and some
hangers-on played three and half rounds, and saw one of the course
records smashed. Oz Freire on the first round of the day scored an
amazing 11 below par 51 on the Old Course. This feat broke all, and he
stormed to a 16 stroke victory over Sam Neilson. Derek Robins, well out
of the hunt over the first three rounds and lying sixth, clawed back three
places to finish third over the final ten.
