Could GB enter a Women's Guts team into the WUGC2000? Only Brtain's women
can answer this - read on if you think you have got what it takes!

Please check out the excellent website devoted to Guts if you are in any
doubt as to what exactly I am blathering on about!

Here is an excerpt from the latest news from the organisers of the Guts
Divisions in the upcoming WUGC2000:

"The 2000 world ultimate and GUTS Championship,
August 5-13, 2000,
Heilbronn GERMANY

Guts competitions at the WUGC are to be organized in two divisions: Men's
Open and Women's Open. We are actively soliciting women's guts teams, and
invite your participation! Spread the word!

Each national Guts team must have a minimum of seven (7) players, all of
whom are citizens of the country. If, during the course of the tournament,
a team is not able to field at least six (6) players for a single game,
then the Tournament Rules Group may suspend that team from competition on
medical grounds.

An Ultimate team participating in the WUGC must have a minimum of twelve
(12) 'dedicated' players to Ultimate. For an Ultimate team to field a Guts
team, the seven (7) or more Ultimate players who play Guts must not be part
of the minimum twelve (12) 'dedicated' players required for registration in
Ultimate. Essentially, a country's team must have a minimum of (19) players
to field a team for both Guts and Ultimate at the WUGC.

The Guts portion of the tournament shall start on Tuesday of the WUGC week,
unless the number of teams and required round-robin pool matches require
additional scheduling days. This will be known well in advance of the
tourney.

Guts Semis and Finals should not be scheduled at the same time as Ultimate
Mens Open Semis and Finals if at all possible. Preferably, Guts Semis,
Finals and Consolation matches should be held immediately before their
corresponding Ultimate Semi, Final or Consolation match."

====================

GB are well on the way to having a Men's Guts team for WUGC2000 - maybe we
could enter a Women's team too! If any women would like to join in the Guts
practice sessions or just find out more details please let me know!

Cheers
