COME ON PEOPLE - I HAVE NOT EXACTLY BEEN SNOWED UNDER WITH RESPONSES ...
MAYBE YOU ARE ALL PLANNING TO MAKE YOURSELVES KNOWN IN ST ALBANS?! ... I
HOPE SO, OTHERWISE WE WILL BE STRUGGLING TO SEND *ANY* TEAMS TO GERMANY.

The newly formed GB Ultimate management team, made up of five Divisional
Managers (DMs) and the General Manager (GM) will need the help of a number
of volunteers if the WUGC 2000 campaign is to be a success.

As I outlined in my submission to Laura and the BUF Executive some months
ago, I believe we will need maybe three or four extra volunteers to sort
out administrative tasks:

Adminstrator x 'N'
------------

The role of each administrator is to ensure the smooth running of their
designated area of logistical support, liaising closely with the GM and
relevant members of the BUF Executive.

The GM, on behalf of the six-person management team, may seek volunteer
administrators to support a wide range of tasks which are indirectly linked
with the selection, preparation and performance of the National Ultimate
Teams, including such areas as: booking and publicity of practice sessions;
tournament registration; financial arrangements; travel and transport;
playing kit; and sponsorship.

So, taking those areas in the order listed, here are the jobs that we NEED
YOUR HELP with:

1) booking and publicity of practice sessions

To be handled by the DMs (with some help from their friends).

[MANY THANKS TO NANCY FOR STEPPING FORWARD TO HELP ON THIS!]

2) tournament registration

To be co-ordinated by the GM.

3) financial arrangements [VOLUNTEER NEEDED ... URGENTLY]

We will need someone to co-ordinate the money side of the WUGC 2000
campaign - this is likely to include some or all of the following: practice
facility bookings; team registration; player registration; transport
booking; team kit orders; insurance; sponsorship monies. The nature of this
role means they would have to be in close contact with lots of different
people: 5+1 management team; the other administrators; BUF officers etc.

[Someone has been approached about this, but it is not yet confirmed].

4) travel and transport [VOLUNTEER NEEDED]

It would be good if someone looked into the various travel options
(flights, trains, coach) and made some recommendations about whether it
would be cost effective to arrange group travel to Heilbronn. As I think
Patch will testify, this can be quite an involved process, but the benefits
for such a large group would make it worthwhile. This person might also
investigate travel insurance options.

5) playing kit [VOLUNTEER NEEDED]

Again, it would be good to have one person to look after this. Ideally they
could organise a design competition while shopping around to get the best
value for money. Shirts & shorts (with numbers) are probably the minimum
requirements, but tracksuits might be a possibility - this person would
keep in close contact with whoever is looking into sponsorship
opportunities ...

6) sponsorship [VOLUNTEER NEEDED]

If a volunteer could be found with experience of securing sponsorship for
sports teams, that would be superb. There are many types of sponsorship
deals: product only; cash donations; gender specific; age specific; and
even individual sponsors. It would be good if the same person could look
into the group possibilities as well as advising individuals about how they
could strike their own deals. This volunteer ought to keep in close contact
with DMs and also work with the BUF Publicity Officer, especially with
promotional material and press releases.

PLEASE DON'T BE SHY!

With five Ultimate squads plus some Guts players, this will be the largest
GB contingent ever to venture abroad to represent their country at a World
or European disc championships - we need your assistance to make this goal
a reality! Could anyone interested in helping out in any of the above
roles, please contact me for more details.

Cheers

Sam Neilson
GB General Manager.
