Much to my surprise (not!) this prompted a few responses. Thank you to
all those people who made their point politely. FOAD to those who made
the same point and managed to be condescending, patronising or
offensive into the bargain. I'm afraid, however, that everybody's
"helpful" suggestion doesn't actually help.

The serious point is this: owing to some interaction between the
Warwick list server and the Reuters e-mail gateway, Britdisc postings
arrive in my mail system with "owner-britdisc" in the "From" field.
Details of the original sender are completely absent from the message,
the header and the 1.5 KB of IP routing junk that comes with each
Britdisc mail.

This obviously isn't the way it works for most people, and it is
possible that I am the one and only person that experiences this
problem. However I doubt it. Therefore I repeat my original request.
Please take the extra three seconds and append your e-mail address to
any postings. (Or, if you can't be bothered, set up a ".sig" file,
which will do it automatically.)

Thanks for your attention.

Bye for now,
Patrick
