Hi everyone,

Regarding travel to Edinburgh for the National Indoors by coach,

I can understand getting to or from another city not as large as=20
London,
i.e. Oxford can have it's difficulty and there are many options open=20
to you,
most of which Chris covered. However, if you live in London and=20
actually pay
some attention to the advertisements plastered all over the tube you=20
will no
doubt be aware that GNER (Great North Eastern Railways) are offering=20
single
tickets to a number of northern cities for only =A319, for those=20
mathematically
challenged that makes a =A338 return fare.

I booked my ticket a week or so ago but I know of others who booked=20
more
recently so there is probably still some availability, I think the=20
telephone number
is 0345 225 225 for bookings.

There is slight catch in that you have to specify which trains you=20
going to travel
and there is no way of changing them (usual BR conditions on any cheap=20
ticket)
I'm going to be on the 5:00pm from KX on Friday night that gets to=20
Edinburgh at
9:15pm. I return on Sunday night on the last train back to the capital=20
which leaves
Edinburgh at 6:00pm and reaches KX at 11:32pm. I know it's rather a=20
long journey
on Sunday but given the fantastic weekend I intend on having I'll=20
probably be ready
for a 5 =BD hour sleep.
I hope to see some of you either at KX or on the train and the rest of=20
you up
in Edinburgh.

Happy travelling,

Colin.
