Something that was highlighted at the weekend was the poor communication at tournaments. Many people complained about the quality of the pitches - I know that. Some people said the event should never have happened. Less than a third of the teams there had someone at the Captains meeting, at the stated time. That is your moment to make suggestions, and raise questions. Use it or lose it. With the captains meeting less than half an hour before the first game, a serious team should have been there ready to play.

However the problem does not stop there - Hammarage have suggested that some teams gained from Catches withdrawal - yes Headrush did, they gained a bye into the second knockout game - against Hammerage; Headrush won the game. But an attempt was made on Saturday night to adjust the schedule so that some of the team moved up in the 5-12 category to compensate for the presence of only 7 teams. However Headrush had already checked the schedule, worked out that they did not have to play till late and gone home. To adjust the tournament to their detriment, would have added to the list of complaints over the weekend.

The BUF are hoping to invest in a PA system - that would be nice, but someone has to ship it to events (are the BUF going to buy me a van as well?). I don't really have any other solutions to this problem, other than suggest that in future, if you have a bye, make sure that you are there just in case you don't. But for me that seems extreme for the rare cases that something like this will happen.
