Good point Rog.
I too think Nationals format needs thinking about.
I have to agree that it would be crazy for Catch to have to enter Nationals
as 9th seeds and also to only be able to achieve 9th position.
Why does Nationals have to be rigidly split 1-8 & 9-16? I think it is very
unfortunate for the teams 9, 10 & 11 to not have a chance of going for a
higher position than 9th. Wouldn't it be possible to introduce a 5-12
crossover after the first round. Or rather than a crossover 5-12 play
straight knockout and 13-16 just play semis and finals for their positions?
I know this won't help Catch's position as much as they'd like as they would
still be excluded from the semi-finals, but at least they could secure 5th
place rather than 9th.
Just a thought.
