Well done all those who went to USA for the PDGA Worlds and helping GB
qualify for World Games.

However, I think I must be mistaken in deciding who goes. I thought it was
the best finisher at Worlds but derek says it is the Tour winner. If this is
the case then I think we need to reconsider. Simon beat Derek by nearly 50
places and 11 shots and Sammy by 100 places + and 29 shots indicating that
he performs well at Worlds level. Simon might also win the tour, as might
Sammy or Derek, but it might be better to have this discussion now.

Britain Qualifies for World Games!!!!!!!!!

Britain will be one of six countries to be represented in the World
Games next year for the Disc Golf Event. The invite was earned
by our performance in the PDGA World Championships.

In the Open division there were 238 competitors
101 Si Luard with -1
149 Derek Robins +10
206 Sam Neilson +28

In the Womens division there were 26 competitors
9 Sue Underwood +63
13 Ruth Steele +74

The performances of Sue, Si and Derek counted towards World
Games qualification. The top male and female finishers in the
2000 BDGA Tour will represent Britain.

Ken Climo regained his title to become 10 time World Champion,
shooting an incredible -64 over 153 holes. He won a record $7303

Juliana Bower held off the challenge of Elaine King to take her
3rd straight World title and $1765

Including the amateurs and other age divisions there were more
than 800 competitors playing 6 different courses and prize money
totalled $100,000.

Players were also invited to take part in field events and Ruth
Steele of Britain took first place in Womens Distance. Si luard
took 2nd in mini-disc golf and won $120.
