Not a message about which anyone should "Panic", more a cause for
"Concern"...

I spoke to Chris Hughes (BUF Director of Competitions) last night, and
was informed that, despite hard work from several people (thanks for
your efforts!), BUF Nationals is still lacking a host and venue.

Not a great state of affairs with only a month before the planned date!

Chris is currently taking some time out from Ultimate to complete his
MPhil. (so won't be at Nottingham this w/e) but expects to be back in
the swing of things in a fortnight or so.

In the meantime, anyone with potential venues, and maybe a willingness
to host the event (assistance can be provided) should go contact their
venue and determine what facilities are available and at what cost, and
be prepared to drop Chris a line.

As a minimum, the venue needs to be able to cope with 16 teams, so 6
level, cut and lined pitches (120yds long x 40 yds wide, plus "safety
space" of ideally 10yds between/around each pitch - so that's longer but
narrower than a soccer pitch) are essential, 8 preferable, for an all-
day Saturday and all-day Sunday booking. On-site water taps are also
essential.
It is also preferred that there are on-site showers, some form of
shelter from inclement weather, and provision of food/refreshments.

Get looking!
(We'll check out the Hitchin option as well... but we can't guarantee
that it is possible, and we're under the impression that the players
would prefer somewhere a little less windswept!)
It's an ideal opportunity to make some money for your club, or yourself.
