Several teams have approached me with roster problems involving dwindling
numbers of women. These teams made an effort to play more than one Series
Event, and I feel it would be harsh to exclude them from Nationals when
finding enough women to play has been a problem for many teams. In
addition, one of the reasons for starting a Mixed series was to encourage
more women to play.

So, the following 'softening' of the roster rules will be in force for
Nationals rosters:

Any team may add one WOMAN to their roster who has not played with them
during the Mixed Series, provided that none of the woman's previous mixed
teams are playing at Nationals. (Just like the Tour guest rule.)

I apologise to all the teams that busted their butts to get their women out
to the tournaments so they would have enough for Nationals. This is a
compromise decision, and I admit it has its drawbacks.

Given the above 'softening' of the roster rules- DO NOT SHOW UP WITH LESS
THAN FOUR WOMEN READY TO PLAY AT NATIONALS. I will exclude you on the spot-
there will be no captains' agreements to play with fewer women or anyone
playing shorthanded. Bring enough players (male and female) or don't come.

That said- hope to see you in LEicester,
nancy
