I don't wish to comment on the details of the particular situation as much 
of the discussion seems to have happened elsewhere.
Having seen this type of discussion repeat itself all too often over the 
years I would say, however, that in every sport in which I have been 
involved where eligibility criteria were in force all teams entering an 
event or league were given those criteria or directed to the publication 
in which they could be found. If you invite teams to an Ultimate 
tournament and don't specifically direct them otherwise I would expect 
them to use the WFDF rules of Ultimate which aren't real detailed on UK 
student eligibility requirements. If you want teams to obey additional 
rules you should provide those rules to each team in advance otherwise you 
might as well be making new ones up on the spot.
