Maybe not this year, but with any luck next year there'll be so many
bids to hold Tour events that we'll actually see a bidding war and
therefore sensible (i.e. making an "acceptable" level of profit) prices
for tournaments, because people will actually bother to NOT ONLY think
"I can do better than this, for cheaper (and still make a bit of cash)",
but ACTUALLY DO IT!!!

As for the venues for the 2001 Tour. E

... and require co-ordination of twice as many venues that can't
understand the concept of ultimate and wonder why we want showers if
we're only throwing a frisbee around...

not sure about the location of such info, but...
in the 4 years (1997-2000) that the Tour has been running so far, I can
think of:
cones, and replacement thereof;
scoreboards;
waterbottles and replacement thereof;
petrol contribution for the DoC carting these things about the country;
phone/postage costs for the DoC in co-ordinating the events;
Tour Champions and Tour Spirit trophies.

Not sure what this all adds up to, but I'd reckon it's more than you, or
even I, might guess at.

>Who remembers ultimatum, anyone?

Me. I've got copies of them all from issue 20 (October 1990) to issue 38
(July 1999)
And I know how much hard work went in, again from a VERY small group of
people.
Ultimatum died because there are people willing to put the effort into
presentation/publishing the info, BUT very few people submit anything.

It's kinda tempting to try for the various copyright holders permissions
to scan them and put them on the web... anyone know what it costs to set
up a pay-site? [Joke! I think...?]

>ps - Chris nice one on getting the events actually sorted!

Aye! and thanks to the TDs for putting in the effort - I for one am
looking forward to a year's Ultimate without having any personal
accountability!!!
