Dear Rog et al,

Don't worry. I'm quite calm and certainly don't want this to escalate to the
levels of the aforementioned slanging match some years back.

I simply felt that Dan's attitude was a little arrogant. He made a mistake
and an apology would go some way towards resolving the situation and
hopefully put him and his Nottingham teammates in a better light.

I'm just making a point. Nothing more.

Max

Max - what you're saying is true to some extent, but can't we all just
<scouser voice>calm down</scouser voice>?

Dan takes the point, this kind of things doesn't seem likely to ever happen
again - so there seems little point forcing someone who had no bad
intentions into an unheartfelt apology. He thought what he did was going to
be funny, it just turned out to be a mistake. All this name-calling reminds
me of when a certain nameless player threatened me physically after a heated
Britdisc discussion about 5 years ago, we don't want to go down that road do
we? Things have been so civilised for so long....

I don't think there's any need for us all to victimise him - it's a
consequence of one of the aspects of our sport being at the stage it is.
There's alot of different reasons for playing the sport, and alot of
different attitudes to the game. An un-official BUF policy on not mentioning
or alluding to drug-taking would help (after all it would probably be bad
press for us to be seen as having to address this officially), but we've got
to remember that for a lot of people the sport is a social one with all the
connotations that brings, and we wouldn't want to disenfranchise them (us?)
for the sake of an archaic unlibertarian law which is under constant threat
of review.

It's a tough cookie though. Even more reason to be glad you're not Ben
Ravilious ;-)

Laters,
PieBoy (Bullfrog?)

hi my [sic] names max. Dan, I like most of us out here, don't know who you
are, but you really do come across as a bit of a twat.

Red nose day is normally taken in jest, not the promotion of illegal drug
taking when we are trying to the public's perception of Ultimate.

We are.

Surely you can open your eyes wide enough and clear your head sufficiently
to realise that you've made a mistake. A simple uncomplicated apology for
your actions would have made a lot of people think you weren't such an idiot
as we had at first thought.
