The National Indoors will be taking place next weekend.

Yes the Gold Cup festival has been cancelled. This is a horse racing event
(again we're back to the livestock issue). However, the event was cancelled
after they had decided to go ahead, when they discovered that sheep had been
grazing on the race course - big no-no! Again the presence of another 200
ultimate players is highly unlikely to affect the risk factors in spreading
disease.

However, this does mean that the race-course hotel - one of our usual
accommodation options is probably out of bounds. We however have been unable
to confirm the hotels availability since we can't contact them (suspect that
means they are shut).

We have other accommodation options if people contact me at home -

Hi Chris,

I was just wondering whether the foot and mouth disease is gonna affect
the Open indoors in Cheltenham next weekend? I heard from one of the guys
in my team that some big festival has been cancelled because of that. And
I've got at least one guy who needs to know asap, whether it's gonna be
played or not, since he's got a plane ticket to book.

St Andrews, to my knowledge, is not very close to an affected farm, but
there are pig farms etc. near the town. If one of them gets infected, do
you think we could not come down? Does it matter if the tournament is
indoors?

I'm gonna check these things from our athletic union and the MAFF website,
but I'd like to hear what you think.

	Cheers,
