Reckless play isn't really acceptable I agree, but it is down to the
player to make the decision every time whether or not they are risking
injuring another player. If they think they may collide then it
shouldn't be attempted and it is surely a spirit foul if not an
actual foul if they do. However this tactic can be used very effectively
against against a flat four in the zone where options are limited. Teams
which can't be bothered to play proper D and pull out the bullshit flat
four could be perhaps be seen to be encouraging this kind of Jump in
though......
