<html><DIV>Just an observation over the weekend, but there were lots of people sitting in the sidelines of the main hall (as is the case in many indoor tournaments) and I think this is a practice that we might have to reconsider for a number of reasons:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>1. There were a number of occasions when players were involved in collisions with those on the sidelines when their play overran the edge of the pitch. I don't think there was any injury caused in the occasions that I whitnessed but there is the possibility in the future. It can't be blamed on the player as they should not have to become less comitted to a catch/D/or whatever, just because they are near the edge of the pitch.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>2. People stood on the sideline can obstruct vision of the pitch and stop rollcurves etc</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>3. It can make it confusing for observers to see what's going on.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>4. It looks messy, especially as this tournament was being filmed.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>5. People also choose to throw discs around etc on the edge of the pitch and on a number of occasions these discs rolled onto the pitch sometimes stalling play completely. On one occassion a disk made it onto the pitch 3 times in quick sucession. It was frustrating for the players and the observers and again looked unprofessional to the cameras.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>In some tournaments where there is no proper seating available, this might be understandable but as there was spectator seating available to the teams, don't we think it would be better to use this?</DIV>
