Lars, (and everyone else asking lots of questions)

As you have identified these are not our rules that we are playing to - they
are the MAFF's, but we still have to go with them.

MAFF's assumption for spectators is that they won't sit down or do anything
else, only stand up. This is flawed but despite discussions they are happy
with this. Similarly as players we have to go through a huge amount of
cleaning ourselves, but they still consider some hay with disinfectant to be
suitable for cars. Yes, hot water and ordinary soap are enough to kill the
virus, it is easily denatured - but is also extremely virulent. Disinfectant
is required to kill it in cold water.

The food rules are similarly confusing and complicated - there are different
rules for different types of food, different packaging etc. So we have
simplified this by saying no food other than what is prepared on site - that
way the site caterers can comply with H&S and all of MAFF's reg's. The other
issue to this is not food prepared or purchased on site can be taken away.
Adam has assured me that all food will be reasonably priced.

Scheduling
Captains meeting is at 8:45. This is to ensure all teams are aware of the
regs and Captains are then responsible for ensuring that their team
complies.
We are planning for games to start at 9:15 - but do have some flexibility to
start late if there is a complete backlog of players wanting to get into the
showers. Aim to be ready to play at 9:15. We will not start games until all
players who arrived early are ready to go, but if you arrive at 9:10 and are
late 'cos you have had to shower, then unlucky - all usual rules apply for
lack of attendance.
End of day
Obviously 600 people diving for the showers at the end of the day will cause
chaos. So we have staggered the finishing times of the teams - even though
there are enough pitches to finish all the games at the same time. Please
stick to the schedule, and have patience at the end of the day. Similarly
get in the shower, wash, get out, leave - people will be waiting.

Kit
Tour rules indicate penalties for lack of suitable kit - IGNORE THESE - I am
well aware that playing kit does not dry well when sealed in a plastic bag.
Just make sure that you have enough light / dark shirts for each day.
Remember that the rules on clothing apply equally to jackets / coats /
waterproofs / etc.

I am well aware that ultimate players can be sensible, intelligent, and
responsible on the rare occasions they wish to be. Lets make the most of the
event.

PS - don't believe Adam's stories about good weather - we've just had half
an hour of snow in Cheltenham

Adam

I imagine that showering all the players involved in the tournament before
starting on saturday could take some considerable amount of time depending
on
the facilities available.

Therefore could you give us some information in advance such as each teams
saturday morning schedule so that those teams who are up first can make
allowances to be ready on time and those who know they are on later can
allow
others ahead.

What will happen if teams are unable to field a line up due to players not
being
showered?

I know they aren't your regulations but why do players need to go to these
extreme decontamination lengths (which seem flawed in my opinion) but
spectators
don't. Surely both will come in contact with the same things?

Your efforts are appreciated and I'm sure everyone coming along will do
their
best to help it all run as smoothly as possible.

Regards

Lars
