Hi Folks,

>From a british point of view the best "Stat" was that Ruth Steele
came third and took home a very impressive bronze medal. Fumio
Morooka (Moro) has provided some more facts and figures below.

One stat which doesn't appear is the number of hours work put in
by Moro, his wife and many other volunteers. They did a great job.

1. During WG(11 days) over 300,000 spectators came to venues.

2. 4,300 atheletes & officials came from 92 countries.

3. 18% of Japanese watched WG Opening Ceremony by NHK TV.

4. 133 countries people watched WG by Trans World Sports.

5. NHK TV broadcasted Disc Golf for 25 mins. in 3 days nationwide.

6. Major(nationwide) newspapers reported Disc Golf with photos.

7. Mr. Richard Kevan Gosper AO, Vice President of IOC, Mr. Ron
Froehlich, President of IWGA, Mr. Bob de Die, Vice Senior
President of IWGA, Mr.Co Koren, Secretary General of IWGA, Mr.
Chiharu Igaya, IOC members and National Olympic Committees
executives came to watch Disc Golf matches.
Mr. Gosper said " I'm so impressed".

8. Mr. Ron Froehlich, President of IWGA sent me the letter as
follows;

I do want to thank you for everything you have done because you
are a very true and loyal supporter of the IWGA and I hope that we
will have many opportunities to work together with you at other
World Games in your sport of Flying Disc.

Once again, my sincere thanks to you.

Yours sincerely,
INTERNATIONAL WORLD GAMES ASSOCIATION
Ron Froehlich
President
