Nah, Becca, it's alright. We talk about this all the time in Oxford and
yeah, it seems that people like to play on same sex teams unless they're
specifically playing in a co-ed tour event. I have specific thoughts about
that but they're not relevant to my point here. That said, my feeling is
that when there are tournaments like the savage seven that are clearly meant
to be fun...raise a little money, play at a big venue, see how hard you are
in december, have a big party on the saturday night, then playing 5-2 is a
great idea. It gets more people out there and gives the women a chance to
play more than women's indoor nationals and a couple international
tournaments during the winter. It doesn't lower the standard as women mark
up on women and men on men. Good players that work together make a good
team, regardless of gender.
It's good to have this kind of stuff on britdisc, thanks for bringing it
up...Roger was starting to bore me. ;-) Hi Pies.

<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>Great argument Sean!!!! The female players in this country are soooooo selfish organising their own tournaments!!!! The Savage tournie is not men's only, it's Open.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The point I was trying to make is Open tournaments make it really hard for women to find teams and compete fairly at a high level. If you want a tournament to have mixed teams I think it is a good idea to specify the split. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>If not, fine, have an Open tournament, I totally appreciate why people, including myself, like playing single sex Ultimate. However, maybe a women's division should be offered at these tournaments AND the final should be played on the top field before the Open final.</DIV>

<DIV>The Savage tournie, because of field and time restrictions was probably not a good example - my apologies.</DIV>
