Hello,

You may remember me from such e-mails as 'Possible Beginner's Tournament' from a
few weeks ago?!

Anyway, it has now turned from a possible to a definite, following all the YES
e-mails I received. I have booked the hall for the 2nd and 3rd of March 2002,
unfortunately I couldn't get it until 12.30pm on the Saturday, which will be a
nice late start for everyone but means that I can only get enough games in for
12 teams. Sorry! All the games will be of a decent length though, I thought
that was better than more teams and really short games.

There should be two teams from our beginner's practices, a Slipdisc team and the
latest incarnation of a Birmingham Uni team. So, that means there are 10 places
in a beginner's tournament in Birmingham up for grabs. I am setting the
experience criteria at 6 months or less so as not to preclude uni teams with
people who started in September/October. Although, our guys will only have been
playing for about 4 months by then. I'm also going to allow one 'experienced'
player on the pitch at any time, provided they wear a silly hat.

I will accept the first 10 cheques through my door and keep the next 4 on a
'stand-by' list, but won't be allowing 2nd teams as with only a 12 team
tournament you'll only end up playing yourselves! I will put 2nd teams on the
'stand-by list tho.

Please send cheques for £60 (bargain!) payable to Slipdisc, to me at:

Simon Statham
37 York Street
Harborne
Birmingham
B17 0HG

Please let me know in a letter, name of team (obviously!!), e-mail contact
address and how many will require accommodation. Not sure how much space for
accommodating people we will have yet, but will let you know nearer the time.

If you have any questions e-mail me back at this address, but I can't reserve
places on the back of e-mails, show me the money.

Cheers

Si (Slipdisc)
