Hello everyone,

In making my debut as DoC I would like to provide you all with a list of the
proposed dates for all the main tournaments next year. This list is by no means
all encompassing, but it provides the bare minimum of events that I would like
to see happen. It provides three purposes:

(i) It allows you to make tentative entries in your diaries for 2002.
(ii) It allows those people who wish to bid to host one of these events to
know which is the most appropriate weekend.
(iii) It allows those people who want to plan additional tournaments to work
around the proposed schedule for the main events. Having said that with the
number of players and teams increasing so much year on year, there is no reason
why we cannot have two or even three tournaments running on any one weekend next
year.

With regards to some of the tournaments listed below, particularly the open tour
events, I have already been approached by people who have booked venues for
particular dates next year. Now whilst I want to be able to confirm to these
people as soon as possible if their location will be the chosen venue I also
would like to give everyone the opportunity to bid for any event/s.

Therefore I am requesting that anyone interested in hosting one of the events
listed below should email or write to me with an official bid within one month
of today's date (Monday 7th January). Included in this bid should be:
- Geographical location
- Quality of venue (to include a photo of outdoor venues that have not
previously been used)
- Number of pitches available (and dimensions for indoors)
- Cost per team (you will be more or less held to this)
- Dates that the facilities are available
- Accommodation provision
- Catering facilities
- Additional services (e.g. first aid, masseurs, physios, party)

Please send all bids to:
Simon Weeks

Fareham

Or email them to bua_doc@yahoo.co.uk. Do not use this email address, as it is my
work email.

Rather than email me if you do have any questions please give me a call (I can
always call you back to save your phone bill) on 07976 216135.

WARNING: These are only the preferred dates for next years' events. Do not do
anything drastic like book days off work for these events.
