Dear britdisc ...

Reports of my passing are greatly exaggerated ... however, just to
clarify some of the wonderfully wild rumours which inevitably abound
when comets appear and palindromic dates suddenly seem commonplace ...
strange things *are* afoot, change *is* in the air ... and Sammy *is* on
the move!

Yes - 2002 is special for me, since it is the year I celebrate a
particular milestone ... a sort of "coming of age" in addition to
reaching 21 years of playing disc! It seems the right time to depart
these shores and begin afresh ... and what better place than New
Zealand!

I'm optimistic that all the fine details of jobs and flats will
eventually be resolved and have already booked my flight ... I leave for
Christchurch in mid June. The host for Mixed Tour 2, Arun Sharma, is
happy for me to use the tournament social as my farewell fling - so I
hope to see lots of familiar faces on Saturday 8th June somewhere in
Leeds before I go (details will be announced later).

There are plenty of events before then, starting with Paganello on the
Rimini beach over Easter ... so I hope to share a drink and a laugh with
friends old and new before I set off on my antipodean adventures! Mine's
a pint of their strongest ale ... and I may even buy you one back!

Apologies to the younger readers who neither know nor care about this
crusty old clown - I'm sure the normal britdisc bollux will resume
shortly (always assuming they find a fool to look after it when I go
;-)

Cheers

Sammy Neilson
