I realise that this is fairly early but we wanted to get in there with this
weekend before anyone else does!

Slipdisc would like to invite everyone to their 'Brumii Five O 2002' Charity
tournament on the weekend of the 10th/11th of August.

If you're not going to Hawaii, then come to Brumii and put this one in your
diary.

The venue is Aston University sports pitches, right off junction 7 of the M6.
Extremely easy to get to, Birmingham is the centre of the Country n'all. (Sorry
Scotland, it's still really far for you!)

There will be enough space for up to 24 teams, so we are hoping for a really
good turn out and a high standard of competition, as well as having a good
laugh. All levels of teams are welcome, the format will be similar to a Tour 1
event, with teams being seeded according to their achievements later in this
season but anyone will be able to win it regardless of where they are initially
seeded.

There will be camping on-site, party on Saturday with Bar-B-Q, bar on-site open
all day 'til midnight, food available all day, the promise of hot showers and
plenty of other stuff to do (details to be worked out).

The event will be raising money for the BBC's Sport Relief campaign, Slipdisc
will donate a sum (dependant on how many teams enter) to charity for EVERY point
scored in the tournament. So, each time you catch the disc in the zone you will
have done your bit for charity this year! But if you drop it, think of all the
starving kids you will have let down! There will be a prize to the team who
raise the most money, by scoring the most points in the tournament. Other fund
raising events will also be organised throughout the weekend, so bring your
coppers!

A web address with full details will be available soon, I shall let you all
know.

The entry price will be a very reasonable £85 per team. If necessary we will
put together one or two pick-up teams and charge £8/£9 per player to enter
(provided there are at least 9 or 10 individuals interested in making up a
team), this will depend on how many proper teams wish to enter.

So, book your place early to avoid disappointment, send a cheque payable to
Slipdisc to:

Simon Statham
37 York Street
Harborne
Birmingham
B17 0HG

Please indicate your team name and an e-mail contact address, along with your
cheque.

I will send out Britdisc reminders in the coming weeks, as I realise that this
is a bit far ahead for some teams to get themselves organised!

Cheers

Si.
