I can't believe no-one has posted this kinda report already but...

TOUR IV IN ABANDONMENT SHOCKER!

For anyone who didn't get to the So'ton outdoors this weekend, the
big news is that due to some incredibly bad weather between 1pm and
2pm on Sunday, the final round of games in 4th round of the Ultim8
Tour had to be abandoned.

The weather had been pretty crappy all weekend, but when a massive
thunderstorm interrupted the semi-finals round, and lightning was
reported to have struck the pitch at one point, games were suspended
for half an hour. There followed a brief period of dryness when a
re-start was attempted, but soon another batch of thunderclouds had
rolled in and another half an hour of torrential rain followed.

At about 2pm the groundstaff declared the pitches waterlogged and
unplayable, and so for the first time in memory, the tournament was
abandoned, with unplayed games being declared draws.

I'm sure someone from the organisers will anounce the official
placings at some point soon, placings which had already been thrown
into confusion by the entry of additional teams, and the late
withdrawal of Shotgun II.

That's the news. I'm Lawrence PAULSON.
