Subject: rules, rules, rules

Hello everybody. I've got a rules question for you which has
been bugging me for a few weeks.

Here's the situation: After a turnover I have picked up the
disc in my own endzone. I am walking towards the line when I
spot that one of my team-mates has made an early cut and is
already wide open. I then accelerate and sprint to the line,
bring the disc into play and throw a pass to my team-mate.
My marker had been waiting on the line, but is caught by
surprise. He tells me that my accelerating wasn't allowed.

Question: Do I have to walk at a CONSTANT pace when bringing
the disc to the line after a turnover or a pull?

I personally do not see any violation of the rules or the
spirit. I am not gaining an unfair advantage. I feel
it was the marker's responsibility to be ready.

Am I wrong? What is your view?

Thanks.
