I don't know what the rules say, but I agree with Tammo.

It should be my prerogative to get to the line at whatever=20
pace I choose, just as it is my prerogative to run at whatever=20
pace I choose when the disc is in play. Slowly seems to appeal=20
more these days (when I turn up).
