Hi all,

Qualifiers have generated substantial debate about qualification for the 
finals and many people have shown an interest in joining the 
TOURNAMENTS THINK TANK as a result.  Great!

The think tank isn't just about who/how one should qualify for 
nationals or what that qualification procedure should be although it is 
a substantial theme.  I am listing the main issues to try and 
gain some interest/participation from people who have opinions about other 
aspects of tournament organisation.

1) Medical Facilities at Nationals and other tournaments - should we 
have minimum requirements?

2) Safety Policy - this will soon be a requirement of our insurance 
cover and would include rules about obsticles on or around pitches (eg 
Rugby posts must be no closer than 5m from the edge of a pitch)

3) Seeding/Formatting - Nationals
   a) Regionals/Finals set-up? OR Ranking tournaments feeding into 
      nationals? OR (your ideas here)
   b) If regionals - should regions be redrawn?
                   - Who goes through from each region?
   c) Peer pools for finals? Standard format for Regionals
   d) When should nationals be held?
   e) Should Nationals be run just to find a winner?
   f) Longer and fewer games OR more shorter games?
   g) Should all games be played to time with a cap?
   h) Are the current elligibility rules appropriate?
   i) Should players be roster tied by nationals for WUCC and EUCC?
   j) Should the national finals hosts automatically qualify?

If you have an opinion (however radical) on these matters then mail 
Simon or me and join the discussion group - otherwise remain the silent 
majority.
