Midlands Indoors
I will try to give an accurate report of the goings on at the Midlands
Regional Indoors. I wonder why no Stan(ies) have posted before now?
The tournament was covered in the local press with a centre page spread
and by Central television (south). Thanks to Merrick and his crew for
putting on a great tournament with loads of playing time!
The places went to;
1. Red
2. Stan
3. Blue Arse Flies
4. Bears I
5. Strange Blue
6. Superfly
7. Twin Peaks (Plate)
8. Mad Cows
9. BAF 2
10. Bears 2
11. Funky Nuns
Please excuse any mistakes I did this from memory. Blue Arse flies beat
both Red and Stan in Pool play but then lost to both in the quarters and
semis respectively - I think there'll be up for it up in sunny Ed.
Twin Peaks were suprise plate winners - because they didn't even know
they were playing the plate final.
As far as Red goes we had a thoroughly enjoyable tournament with all our
games at least 23mins and around 4hours of playing time in total. We
particularly enjoyed the final in which we trailed right the way through
to time pulling level 2 seconds before the final hooter. After an extra
2 minutes of playing time the scores were still level so sudden death
followed. Stan in possession of the disc were moving nicely until Mr
Disc Sports (sam neilson) decided to pass me the disc - what a nice man!
At the end of the day we had our fun and both teams enjoy playing each
other indoors, but not half as much as outdoors.
Up the revolution
Scott
